Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid Sportscar

Porsche have just released new photographs of its hybrid 918 spider, first announced at the 2010 Geneva motor show, the plug-in vehicle is Porsche’s first hybrid.

The car has a 4.6 litre V8 engine which kicks out around 770 horsepower giving a top speed of 200mph accelerating from 0-60 in under three seconds. In electric mode, the car reaches over 90mph. its CO2 emissions in combined mode are limited to 70 g/km. The lithium-ion battery, hybrid train and carbon fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP) which goes into making the chassis gives a fuel economy of around 78mpg
