SAE International Reschedules Composite Events

SAE International announces that the upcoming composites events, SAE 2012 Economics of Composites and SAE 2012 Design, Tooling and Manufacturing of Composites, will be postponed until the Spring of 2013 due to economic reasons.

Due to a decline in registration, SAE International took the recommendations from meeting organisers and decided to make significant investments in changing the layout of the event and the dates of the show. However, the location of the event at the Torino Incontra Conference Center in Torino, Italy will remain the same.

Marc LeDuc, Technical Program Developer, SAE International, said.

Although it’s unfortunate that we have to reschedule our Symposium, the Organisers, Torino regional representatives, SAE Torino and SAE International feel that the development of technical events focusing on composite technologies are critical to the advancement of the aerospace and automotive industries and want to continue working to develop an event focusing on economics and production of composites, by focusing on economic issues within the design, manufacturing and tooling of composites, these SAE International events have a unique value proposition within the industry. Additionally, having practitioners in the aerospace, automotive and energy industries discussing real world experience with this material provides an opportunity not available in other events.

The partnership between SAE International and the Torino Chamber of Commerce will be continued and expanded as preparations are made for the 2013 event. For more information, please visit sae.org/economics or sae.org/dtmc
