Owens Corning Opens New Composites Centre in Shanghai

Owens Corning have announced the opening of its new China Composites Centre, featuring a state-of-the-art research and development facility, the 6,000-square-metre centre will provide a full array of technical capabilities to enable the team of scientists and engineers to offer advanced composite material expertise and solutions for the Chinese market.

With the opening of the new Composites Centre in China, Owens Corning is expanding to provide support for local customers’ success on key aspects of material characterisation, composite part prototyping and composite design and modeling. It enables customers and partners to have easy access to Owens Corning’s knowledge in material science and to find new and innovative ways to grow their businesses with new and existing applications.

The China Composites Centre will also partner with local universities and institutes specialising in material science, chemistry, characterisation and processing. Composites training for industry will be conducted at the centre too.

China Composites Center with its work-class capabilities connected to Owens Corning innovation sites in the United States, France, and the Netherlands will make it the Hub for innovation in glass reinforcements and composite applications in China. We will work side-by-side with our customers and partners to drive the use of composites materials in applications, accelerating the development of the Chinese composites industry.
