Designed and modelled after the vespa scooter, this is the 2014 carbon fibre electric bike from Italian firm Leaos
In addition to a standard NuVinci automatic gear shifting, the new bike also features carbon fibre handlebars with a digital display, carbon mudguards and an integrated LED lighting system from Supernova. A new battery has also been developed with the manufacturer BMZ, the new engine drives the bike smoother with higher torque and reaches speeds of up to 45 km/h.
The carbon monocoque has also been optimised and is visually more elegant. The frame is slightly higher and the carbon fibre fork are a completely new development. In keeping with the Italian style and modelled after the legendary Vespa, the cables run directly to the handlebars, and then from there into the frame.
The seating position and special geometry make for a very secure ride. Two handlebar lengths and heights are available making the the e-bike a unisex vehicle. above and beyond design, suitability for daily use and low maintenance have been the main focal points of the development process. Schwalbe balloon tires provide for optimum comfort.
Various fittings and colours are available in a matte black carbon or a 2 tone white/carbon finish, with prices starting from €4,980.00
