Building work well underway at CTG’s UK Composite Centre of Excellence

Building work is well underway for the new Composites centre and the shell of the building is on target for completion in March

The new building is essential to further CTG’s abilities in their current industries: aerospace and defence, advanced vehicle technology, clean energy technology and medical imagery industries; as well as in new industries.

Since being acquired by Goodrich Corporation in June 2010, CTG’s workforce has grown from a small core of people to around 190 employees (expected to rise to over 450 in 5 to 10 years), working at five locations in and around Banbury. In order to accommodate this rapid expansion, CTG is building a new state-of-the-art 137,000 square foot UK Composite Centre of Excellence in Banbury, at Albion Land’s Network M40 development.

The new Centre will attract talented new staff and provide state-of-the-art facilities for current staff to maximise their potential. It will position CTG for long term growth with multi-market applications, whilst sustaining the current innovative and agile environment.

Dominic Cartwright, Managing Director, said;

The new development not only makes our operations more streamlined and effective, it also helps us build for the future. We have exciting growth in all market sectors that we support. This investment will enable us to position the business for long term growth. Innovation is at the heart of the business and being one step ahead of the competition is critical. Creating the Composite Centre of Excellence means we will be bringing together teams that have previously worked on different sites; improving the teamwork and synergy between departments for the benefit of Goodrich Actuation Systems and the wider Goodrich organisation.

The UK Composite Centre of Excellence is due for completion in August 2012.
