The McCamley MT01 Mk2 is a vertical axis wind turbine, this pre production prototype showcases a new generation of wind turbines designed for built up urban locations.
The turbines quite operation and stable eight leg supports make it the ideal candidate for mounting on roof tops in heavily built up locations, and another even bigger version is in the works which will be designed for commercial buildings, hotels, apartment blocks, schools and government buildings.
The wind turbine will self start in very low wind speeds (less than 2m/s) and have no cut-out speed thus increasing the weather window in which the machine can operate in.
