Siemens Installs Six Megawatt Offshore Wind Turbines

Ever bigger rotors, ever more powerful wind turbines, ever farther off the coast. The reason: Costs of wind energy need to be reduced. In order to achieve this, production, installation and operation are designed as efficient as possible. The installation ship “Sea Installer” helps with this. For the very first time, this custom-made superlative installed the new 6 megawatt wind turbine on the high seas.

wind farms produce triple digit numbers in the millions from one farm per year and is cheaper than solar farms so cost to build verse return is wind farms and thats why wind power is the future. Selling energy back and paying those farms will be done in the first months and revenue will far out shine the cost of building so wind farms for sure

DONG Energy provides the foundations and deals with matters such as the seabed characteristics, etc. This part of the construction is not shown in our video because Siemens is not involved or responsible for it.

Great stuff. But it does not show how the vertical part is inserted in the seabed.. curious how that is done and what different seabed characteristics make what difference to e.g. piledriving.

WORLD RECORD: BIGGEST WIND TURBINEVisit: ABOUTSOLARCELLS.COMXA.COM ZERO-NOISE from gears and generators since they’re sealed underground.SAVES THE BIRDS AND BATS since the turbines are slow-moving.DOES NOT NEED TO OCCUPY A WIDER LANDSCAPE since the turbine can be very tall.MAY BE LOWER-COST since it can use parts of junked trucks and others.ELUDES HURRICANE FORCE since the blades automatically close.HELPS THE WIND ENERGY COMPANIES since it is FREE FOR ALL.

I think installation and turbine is perfect. Coating on blade, video quality, safety of employee every thing is very good. Initial costing is still very high. We need to cut it dramatically.

This video shows Siemens blades that have a jagged trailing edge. This is a test to lower the noise from the blades, When wiull this be available for on shore turbines, and how mucht doe sit lower blade noise?
