Ottobock Invest in Baltic Yachts

Ottobock has become the majority shareholder in Baltic Yachts with 80% and together the two companies will focus on the future and invest heavily in carbon fibre technology. Baltic Yachts former share holders will continue as part-owners of the company.

Baltic Yachts was founded in 1973 in Ostrobothnia on the West coast of Finland – the Yard focuses on tailor-made high performance and high quality yachts, combining safe and easy handling. Baltic employs 175 people. The 2012 turnover was around 30 Million Euro.

Ottobock is a family owned global MedTech Company with more than 6000 employees in 49 countries and Headquarters in Duderstadt. The global market leader in technical orthopaedics has since many years Carbon Fibre mobility products in its expanding portfolio.

Ottobock as a tech-oriented MedTech Company Group acquires with Baltic Yachts a cutting edge Carbon Fibre Superyacht Builder. The obviously different universes merge in technology and provide the chance to use this combined know-how in MedTech, Aerospace, Automotive and Green Energy.
